We will leave for Karen Blixen Museum. Karen Blixen Museum is located in the outskirts of Nairobi along the Karen road.
With its history dating back to 1914, during the First World War, with the arrival of Karen Blixen from Denmark. At the foot of Ngong Hills, Karen Blixen established herself as a farmer. After her departure in 1931, the suburbs retained the commemorative home of Karen.
This is the beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1914 and 1931, until she left Kenya after a series of personal tragedies.
Foster an Elephant or Rhino Orphan with the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya. Nairobi National Park and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Nairobi You can visit between 11 am and 12 noon every day, and see the elephants being fed as they play and enjoy both dust and mud bath.
In addition to this, the lead keeper delivers an informative talk about the elephants, their origin, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing in the wild after being rehabilitated. This is an opportunity to get very close and personal with the elephants.
The orphanage also takes in rhinos and if lucky a chance to see a young Rhino at a close up. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a small charity, established in memory of the famous naturalist and founder Warden of Kenya’s giant Tsavo East National Park in which he served from 1948 until 1976.
From here, we will break for lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee house restaurant, Tamambo.
From the Karen Blixen, we will spend the early afternoon at the nearby Giraffe Centre to view and handfeed the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. The center is a breeding sanctuary for this rare giraffe species that are originally from Western Kenya with the most stable population at Ruma National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park.
We will continue with the last sector of our excursion this time at the Kazuri Beads and Pottery Center. Here, we’ll have an opportunity not only to visit but also to buy original souvenir from self-help women project where brightly-coloured handmade ceramics and jewelry are produced. Proceeds from guests visitation supports hundreds of disadvantaged Kenyan women, by providing employment and healthcare support for them and their families.
Kazuri Beads and Pottery Center is popular place for many tourists who have just a few hours to spend seeing the sights and sounds of Nairobi with Oluokos Signature. We’ll also explore the main showroom and workshop that are both located at the facility. We’ll later return to your hotel to mark the end of your excursion.
This activity will begin in Kisumu, Kenya's only lakeside city. For the sake of your enjoyment and getting pure value for your money, this activity begins at 0600 hours.
The activity will end in the evening not later than 1800 hours. On request, we will be happy to tranfer you back to your hotel of residence within a radius of 15 km in Nairobi city.
You can bring one piece of carry-on bag onto the vehicle with you. This must be small enough to fit either under your seat or on your lap.
Airport transfers are not included in the price of our daytrtrip activities, however you can book for an arrival or departure transfer in advance with our office. In this case representative will be at the airport to greet or see you off. To arrange this please contact our customer service team once you have a confirmed booking.

To answer your question, the number of guests on your daytrip will be only you and your loved ones. We handle every booking privately and at Oluokos, we strictly adhere to the no mixing group’s policy. Each of our safari vehicles has a maximum capacity for six guests. The beauty of taking our privately guided daytrip is that you'll get to enjoy the best that Africa has to offer to you and your group privately.
We can accommodate vegetarian guests and we will be happy to assist with diabetic, gluten-free and other medically recommended diets. Please advise us at the time of booking your daytrip with us. Unfortunately, we’re unable to supply meals in accordance with strict religious requirements. For example, we can’t provide salt-free, Halal, requests for specific dietary supplements such as soya milk, and high protein or low-carb meals.
Oluokos itineraries involve a good blend of driving, walking and enjoying sites from the comfort of your safari vehicle. The activity level and amount of walking can vary, so it is important that you bring adequate footwear to ensure your comfort and safety. Our Experience Designers will advise you appropriately before your daytrip begins.
