African Custom Luxury Safaris
Kenya Safari Highlights

Located in East Africa, Kenya is the most revered of Africa’s safari destinations. It boasts the Maasai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its abundant wildlife throughout the year and the phenomenal annual Great Migration that captivates the world from July to October.

Unlike competing destinations, Kenya brims with charm, romance, adrenaline, and adventure. Nothing defines a classic safari vacation like the experience in Kenya.

Historically, Kenya has its position as the birthplace of the safari. As such, it has remained a favourite timeless safari destination for many decades. This has allowed Kenya to establish one of the continent’s finest networks of luxury hotels, camps, and lodges, alongside world-class signature experiences.

Endowed with wonderful and highly diversified wildlife, arguably Africa’s greatest natural phenomena in the Great Migration, and miles upon miles of pristine Indian Ocean beaches, there are few better spots on the planet for indulgence. Perhaps what stands out most about Kenyan safaris is that despite the incredible experiences it offers, it has stayed true to its roots. Wonderful people take care of your safari essentials wherever you go.

Kenya - The Magical Land of Mount Kenya

Considered the best safari gem of East Africa, Kenya does attract many visitors. Therefore, it can be beneficial to be strategic about your travel timing. The dry season from July to October is largely regarded as the best time to visit most parts of Kenya. However, August and September are particularly busy, especially in the Maasai Mara, as the herds of the Great Migration cross the Mara River

Alternatively, consider visiting in October or November before the short rains for a quieter, more exclusive safari experience. Christmas and January to February are also ideal, as they occur before the long rains begin in March. During this time, the days are clear, sunny, and warm, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

Uganda Safari Destination

Uganda Safari Highlights

Uganda’s location makes it perfect for combining with lots of other African destinations, including DR Congo Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania. You can add some coastal or inland beaches too!

The home for mountain gorilla tracking: Track the mountain gorillas in two national parks, combine that with some classical savannah game viewing, all in one country!

Among the so many reasons, game viewing is the most popular tourist activity in Uganda. Wild animals like lions, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, elephants are common in Uganda’s national parks. Uganda is one of only few countries in the world where it is possible to visit endangered gorillas.

Mountain Gorillas are Uganda’s prime tourist attraction. The vast majority of these are in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a few others in Mgahinga National Park, both in southwestern Uganda and near both Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

In Bwindi, visitors have been allowed to view the mountain gorillas since April 1993. The development of gorilla tourism and the habituation of gorillas to humans is proceeding very carefully because of the dangers to gorillas, such as contracting human diseases.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to the tree-climbing lions. Lions do not normally climb trees, except when chased by another lion group or wild buffalo. However, the tree climbing lions found in QE-NP intentionally climb trees and rest on them in the afternoon, when the sun is high. This is a unique phenomenon. There have only been rare similar sightings of this at Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya and at Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania.

Uganda - The Land of Gorillas and the Nile River

Uganda luxury safari activities are extremely engaging and adventurous and they include Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi forest National Park and Mgahinga National park, Chimpanzee tracking, white water rafting adventure at the source of the Nile, game drives in major national parks of Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Lake Mburo and Kidepo Valley. Other Uganda safari activities and attractions include Mountain Rwenzori and Elgon climbing, cultural experiences, birding, volunteering. On the other hand, you can explore the Ssese Islands in Kalangala on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Uganda is considered the primates capital of the world and arguably the best place for guests to trek with the last remaining Mountain Gorillas in the world right in their natural habitat. The country is also home to the powerful Murchison Falls, the Big Five animals and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Uganda has undergone a transformation over the years which has made it one of the most looked after emerging luxury safari destination in the world and with over 10 national parks each uniquely endowed with multiple plants and world life species, a luxury wildlife safari in Uganda becomes one of the experiences guests should endeavor to book in their life time.

Parc National des Volcans is located in northwest Rwanda and is an area of thickly vegetated rainforest and bamboo providing shelter to endangered Golden Monkeys and approximately one-third of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorilla population.

This is where primatologist Dian Fossey carried out her seminal work, which was her adopted home and place of rest. Dian expressed the feeling of coming face-to-face with Silverback Mountain Gorillas as “The expression in his eyes was unfathomable. Spellbound I returned his gaze – a gaze that seemed to combine elements of inquiry and acceptance.” This is an experience that only those who have lived can fully appreciate.

These parks are rich in diversity of natural habitats that range from the gallery forests, highland steppe, miombo woodlands, savannah and wooded grasslands.

DR Congo Safari Highlights

Africa’s second-largest country, the 2,344,858 square kilometers extends west from its border with UgandaRwanda, Burundi and Tanzania all the way to the distant Atlantic coastline. It is arguably the most biodiverse country in Africa, best known for the green swathes of rainforest associated with the vast Congo River Basin, but also home to the western slopes of the immense Ruwenzori and Virunga mountains, as well as several massive lakes.

Unfortunately, the Democratic Republic of Congo is also one of Africa’s most problematic countries, and much of it is undeveloped for tourism and practically off-limits following long decades of poor governance and civil war.

A discovery to the southeastern part of DR Congo through Lubumbashi, will lead you to Upemba and Kundelungu National Parks. These parks are rich in diversity of natural habitats that range from the gallery forests, highland steppe, miombo woodlands, savannah and wooded grasslands. The parks have numerous gorges, waterfalls, wetlands to rivers and escarpments. On the other hand, depressions are filled with more than 20 lakes that are strongholds for exceptional fish, plants, insects, wildlife and rare bird species that are worth exploring.

The the eastern border area with Rwanda and southern Uganda, where the astoundingly biodiverse Virunga National Park reopened to visitors in 2009 and has since attracted a steady trickle of tourism, albeit with a few interruptions due to sporadic outbreaks of fighting. Easily visited as a cross-border excursion from Rwanda or Uganda, Virunga is popular with adventurous budget-conscious travelers because gorilla-tracking permits are far cheaper than in neighboring countries, and more easily obtained at short notice. The park also boasts one truly unique attraction in the form of Mount Nyiragongo, whose active volcano stretching a kilometer-deep crater hems in the world’s largest lava lake.

DR Congo - The Land of the Congo River and the Great Apes

The beauty of the country spans beyond the banks of the riverfront, the calmness of a lake, the misty volcanic terrains, or majestically in the density of the equatorial rain forest. DR Congo is a country where only a privileged will have had the honor of visiting as an explorer rather than a tourist.

There is a vast array of locations in the DRC for the discerning guests, ranging from the vast urban sprawl of the country’s capital city, Kinshasa with its high-end hotels and restaurants, to smaller cities like Lubumbashi in the south-east and Goma in the east. When you consider the fact that much of Africa’s most popular music comes from the DR Congo, there’s plenty of proof that the country isn’t only for nature lovers but also to cultural enthusiasts.

The DR Congo’s wilderness, though, are good enough reason to visit. The jungles and the foothills of the volcanic peaks are famous for their primate population, including the endemic eastern lowland gorilla, as well as okapi, giraffe and elephant, and the forests also offer an abundance of birdlife. In a nutshell, the Democratic Republic of Congo remains to be a country filled with surprises.
